I will list many simple ways, we all can do, to better our environment. Making a list of things is not enough. Talking about it is great start, but words need to lead to action. Most actions listed below are as simple as turning off a light when your not using it, or lowering the temperature on the water heater.

Its getting your mind set to be always conscience of it. Waste is all around us. We need everyone in to get involved in order to make a difference. Lead by example. Our children today need to take notice. Learn about it in school, projects, day events, group brainstorming, etc. They are the future poineers left to clean up the devestation of the past and what is currently still occuring. Use the reduce, reuse, recycle way of thinking as your first step, and encourage friends and family to do the same. Use "Green Safe" products to reduce toxins leeching in, and polluting Our Mother Earth. It's up to each and everyone of us to make a difference.

Can We Save Ourselves from Ourselves

We all know that Mother Nature has her own agenda, but are we invoking her wrath? Knowing the devastating power she can bring we still feel we are above it through technology. Granted  technology have brought us the Internet, cell phones, and major advances in the medical field. Did it help in the gulf oil spill, climate change, and now the recent catastrophe in Japan. How many wake up calls do we need before its to late.
I sit here in my limited existence and am appalled at the lack of concern. Sure we are all concerned when it makes headlines.
Our society is reactive rather than proactive. People would rather cut costs to save money, then save lives.  What is more frustrating is that it doesn't have to be the case. We have existing technology that will do both. So why not utilize it? Why, Because most of us don't think about it, or are to greedy to care.
Here's what you don't realize. If you did care things wouldn't cost as much. You be concerned about the air you breath, food you eat, water you drink. We all go to the grocery store and see the increases in food prices. You don't think its due to what we are doing to our climate. More people die of starvation than any other diseases globally. It has everything to do with climate changes, brought on ourselves.
So how do we Save Ourselves from Ourselves. Awareness, Education, and Action on a global scale. Utilize Green Energy sources (solar, wind, hydro), reduce carbon footprint, over fishing, and advocate alternative fuel sources. Is an electric car re powered by wind while you drive out of the question? We all need to rethink, and think outside the box. Anything is possible as history shows, but let us continue to have a history.
